Emma Jones Brust

Emma Elizabeth Jones Brust, 94, of Rohrersville, Maryland, passed from this life on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown.

Born on October 13, 1919, in Weverton, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Claggett and Grace (Barger) Thompson.  She was preceded in death by her first husband, William F. Jones, in 1977, and her second husband, Bernhardt H. Brust, in 2003.

Libby was employed at American Optical in Frederick for 15 years.

She was a member of the Brownsville Church of the Brethren and was an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her three children, Dale E. Jones and wife Christy of Yarrowsburg, Sue Lescalleet and husband Marvin of Rohrersville, and William L. Jones and wife Sandy of Sharpsburg; two step-sons, George and Robert Brust; and her brother, Jesse Thompson of Brunswick.  She is also survived by six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husbands, she was preceded in death by a daughter, June M. Shewbridge; two sisters, Betty Jane Cooper and Tannie Lucas; and one brother, Raymond Thompson.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 1 p.m on Monday, January 13, 2014 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro.  Rev. R. Thomas Fralin, Jr. will officiate.  Final resting place ceremonies will follow at the Brownsville Heights Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at the funeral home.
