Emma Chaney

Emma Louise Chaney, age 80, passed away Monday April 23, 2018 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born May 20th 1937 she was the daughter of the late Anna and Forney Hamburg. She was the wife of the late George W. Chaney, Sr.
She was a loving mother and grandmother that enjoyed spending time with family, listening to music and crocheting.
She is survived by her son, Thomas Chaney and his wife, Lori, of Hagerstown; and her three daughters, Glenda Dorsey and her husband, Dennis, of Hagerstown, Dale Herndon and her husband, Oral, of Mt Airy and Mary Dorsey and her husband, Curtis, of Frederick; her brother-in-law, Eddie Chaney and his wife,  Eva; additionally, there are18 grandchildren, 30 great- grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two of her sons, George W. Chaney, Jr. and Raymond R. Chaney; by one sister, Charlotte Wolf; and one brother, Melvin Hamburg.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd., Mt. Airy with Rev. R. Lorraine Brown officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be held at the Marvin Chapel UMC Cemetery in Mt. Airy.
The family would like to thank the staff at Lorien of Mt. Airy for their excellent care. Also a special thank you to some staff members at FMH, RN Margaret, Dr. Cole, and MSW Nicole, who showed kindness and compassion during her last hours with us.
