Emily Rigby Morgan passed away on February 15, 2025, in Frederick, Maryland at the age of 90. Emily was a remarkable woman known for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering support for her family.
Born in Rhode Island, Emily's early life experiences shaped her into a resilient and compassionate individual. She attended Westminster Choir College before working at Princeton University where she met Walter Morgan through mutual friends. After moving to Maryland, she established herself as a dedicated piano teacher. Teaching from her home, she tutored up to 50 students weekly, significantly impacting many lives in the area through her commitment to music education.
Emily's dedication to her family provided the financial stability that allowed her husband to found the Communications Center, which provided consulting to space and satellite businesses. Emily's support was instrumental in Walter’s achievement.
Besides her professional life, Emily enjoyed sewing, smocking, knitting, singing, playing card games, and gardening. These hobbies offered her great joy and were a significant part of her life, reflecting her creative and joyful spirit.
Emily is survived by her son, Edward, daughter-in-law, Susan, and her grandchildren, Katie and Thomas Morgan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Morgan. Emily's legacy of love, support, and kindness will forever be cherished by her family, friends, students, and all who knew her.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, February 24, 2025 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A. (Fred), 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, MD.
