Emil S. Maynard
January 3, 1916 — July 8, 2009
Mr. Emil S. Maynard, 93, of Silver Spring, MD formerly of Frederick passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at the National Lutheran Home in Rockville. He was the husband of the late Jeannette T. Maynard. They were married for 61 years.
Mr. Maynard was a member of the Methodist Faith. He was a purchasing contract agent for the federal government. He served in the US Marine Corp from 1942-1946 during World War II in the Pacific and Washington, DC.
Emil was a very active volunteer in Frederick and Prince George's County. In 2000 he was awarded the Frederick County Most Beautiful People Award for working to improve the environment, parks, traffic safety, and worked on an anticigarette campaign.
He is survived by his daughter, Marcelle M. Stenbakken and husband Gerard of Potomac. MD, two grandsons, David N. Stenbakken and wife Sonia Lee and Michael Stenbakken and a great grandson, Daniel Lee Stenbakken.

Services:
Funeral services will be held at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Monday, July 13, at 2:00PM with Rev. Marjorie Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to service.
Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
