E. Madeline Smith

E. Madeline (Brown) Smith, 99, of Rohrersville, Maryland, passed from this life on Friday, November 23, 2012 at Fahrney-Keedy Home & Village in Boonsboro.
Born on August 6, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Charles Luther Brown and Mary Bell (Daugherty) Brown Houser.
Madeline was preceded in death by her husband, Harold E. Smith, Sr., in 2005, and previously by her infant son, Harold E. Smith, Jr.
She was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church at Locust Grove where she was active with the "True Blue" Sunday School Class.  She was also a member of the Rohrersville Homemaker's Club.
Madeline was a homemaker and for 30 years she was the co-owner of Kline's Gallery in Boonsboro.
She is survived by one daughter, Patricia E. Kline and husband Gale of Boonsboro, Maryland; three grandsons, Dana G. Kline and his wife Carol of Rosemont, Maryland, David H. Kline and his wife Irina of Hagerstown, Maryland, and Carroll Michael Kline and his wife, Robyn of Woodbine, Maryland.  She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Madeline was the last surviving member of her immediate family having been preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 26, 2012 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland.  The Rev. Blaine E. Feightner will officiate. Immediately following the ceremony, she will be laid to rest at the Mt. Zion Cemetery at Locust Grove in Rohrersville.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at the funeral home
The family requests memorial donations be made to the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, Post Office Box 55, Rohrersville, Maryland, 21779.
