Elsie Schildt

Mrs. Elsie M. Schildt, 79, of Frederick, died Monday, September 24, 2012 at Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center with her loving family by her side. She was the wife of Harold Wolfe Schildt, Sr., whom she married on February 8, 1958.

Born March 9, 1933 in Mt. Airy, she was the daughter of the late Harry B. and Irene C. (Duvall) Fritz.

Mrs. Schildt was a homemaker who enjoyed giving and providing for her family. She fought many health issues and a long battle with Alzheimer's.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Harold Wolfe Schildt, Jr., Howard Atlee Schildt, and Vernon Jacob Smith, III, and wife, Georgia; three daughters, Lisa  Ann Snoots and husband, Harvey Snoots, Jr.; Luann Patricia Schildt and husband, Henry Lake, II; and Elsie Virginia Schildt, and fiancé, James S. Grimes; two sisters, Mabel Fritz Horton and Ann Fritz; and a brother, William (Bill)  Fritz.

She also leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including a special great-grandchild, Paityn McKinley Rodgers.

She was predeceased by two children, Sherry Ann Wages and Robert Wayne Schildt; and five brothers, Donald E. Fritz, David Fritz, John Fritz, Jimmy Fritz, and Robert Fritz.

The Schildt family wishes to express their gratitude and appreciation to Citizens Care and Rehab Center for the compassion and care given to their mom.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 28 from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Timothy S. May, Sr. officiating.

Entombment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.

Serving as bearers will be her sons, Harold Schildt, Jr. and Howard Schildt; sons-in-law, Harvey Snoots, Jr. and Henry Lake, II; grandson, Shane Snoots; and family friend, Kenneth Sulpizio.

Memorial contributions may be made payable to Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center, 1920 Rosemont Ave., Frederick, MD 21702.
