Elsie Hayden

Elsie B Hayden, 85, of Ijamsville, passed from this life on Friday, December 16, 2016 at Frederick Memorial Hospital,  Frederick, MD. Born on December 4, 1931, in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Evan and Margaret Bevan. She attended Blair High School, Silver Spring.  She was  a member of Wheaton Volunteer Rescue Squad Ladies Auxiliary, Montgomery County Volunteer Fire Association Auxiliary, and the Maryland State Fireman's Association Ladies Auxiliary. She was a life time member of the Hyattstown Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.  An avid bowler, she participated in Terrace Lanes Senior Bowling League up to a few years prior to her death. She enjoyed crafting, knitting and sewing.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Charles Wayne Hayden, Sr.

She is survived by son, Charles Hayden, Jr. of Charles Town, WV, daughter, Carol Hayden of Rockville,  son, Keith Hayden & his wife, Debbie, of Frederick; grandchildren, Geri White and husband, Chris, Jonathan Hayden, and Kelsey Hayden; great grandchildren, Abby, Alex, Ava, and Amelia White; sisters, Margaret Daley of Frederick, Betty Crierie of Silver Spring, Evelyn Taylor of St Petersburg, FL, Mildred O'Connell of Gambrills, Marcia Brigandi and her husband, Joe of Syracuse, NY; brother in law, Carl Hayden and his wife, Dottie of Sykesville; cousin, Joyce Snellbaker of FL;  she is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, other family members and her beloved dog, Arby. She will  be greatly missed by her daughter-in-law, Debbie

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from 6-8pm and on Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 2-3pm, at which time the funeral service will begin at 3:00pm

Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery in  Arlington, VA at a time to be announced.
