Eloise {Bumbarger} McGuffin

Mrs. Eloise ( Bumbarger ) McGuffin, 85, of Buckeystown, died on Thursday,April 24, 2008 at Glade Valley Nursing Center. She was the wife of the late John Turner McGuffin.

Born on August 1, 1922 in Marion, SC, she was a daughter of the late Merwin and Eva ( Godbold ) Bumbarger.

Mrs. McGuffin was a very active member of Buckeystown United Methodist. Church for more than 50 years. She was raised and attended schools in Columbia, SC where she met her husband to be J.T.

She was the owner/operator of Kut-N-Kurl Beauty Salon, Pine Ave., Frederick for 38 years. In her leisure she enjoyed traveling.

Surviving are one son, John C. McGuffin and wife Janis of Buckeystown,3 grandchildren; John M. McGuffin and wife Lauren, Rebecca McGuffin Cooper and husband Tom, all of Frederick, C. Matthew McGuffin and wife Julie of Boonsboro,6 great-grandchildren; Coby, Simon, Ashlee, Charlotte, Jesse and Mia, 1 sister, Rosalie Bumbarger Rothenberger of Boyertown, PA. Mrs. McGuffin was like an aunt to many.

She was preceded in death by 2 brothers; T.J. Bumbarger and Merwin C. Bumbarger, 2 sisters, Louise Husek and Cecil Autry.

Visitation: Family will receive friends at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, on Saturday, April 26th, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Services: Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 3, at 11:00 a.m. from the Richardson Funeral Home, 1936 Senator Gasque Rd., Marion, SC. With Rev. Linda Healy officiating. Interment in Rose Hill Cemetery.
