Mr. Elmer T. “Chief” Lasiter, Jr. 94 of Frederick, Maryland passed away on Monday, July 23, 2012 at Northampton Manor. He was the husband of Lenore Lasiter. They married on December 11, 1964.
Born July 1, 1918 in Bradford, Tennessee he was the son of the late Elmer and Nell Casey Lasiter.
Elmer served in the United Stated Navy for 22 years. He was a World War II Vet and was a Salvage Diver on the USS Salvager ARSD-3 out of Norfolk, VA.
He retired from Fort Detrick after 20 years as a Chief Mechanist. He was a member of the AMVETS and enjoyed his vegetable garden.
In addition to his wife Lenore, he is survived by his three brothers, William and David Lasiter, and Thomas Sheehy, step children, Joann Ramsburg and husband John and Janet Hartman, grandchildren, Chanin Storm, Michael Ramsburg and Roxanne Cannon, great grandchildren, Jason Ramsburg, Tarah Zuniga, Jeffrey Ramsburg, Allison Cannon and Sasha Jack, great great grandchildren, Liam Zuniga and Madilynn Zuniga.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Friday, July 27th from 5:00-8:00PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, July 28th at 1:00PM with Pastor Sandi Rogers officiating.
Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
