Elmer Cecil Cregger, Sr., 82 of Keymar, Maryland, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 5, surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Emily Pollen Cregger for almost 60 years.
Elmer was born in Nebo, VA and was a life-long resident of Maryland. He was owner of C&F Auto Sales in Woodsboro, MD for 53 years, and was particularly well known for handling used Chrysler muscle cars in the late 1960’s and early 70’s. He was a member of Bethel Assembly of God in Littlestown, PA. Throughout his lifetime he served faithfully in several churches holding the position of Sunday School superintendant, worship leader, church board member, as well as being a member of the Gideons. He and his wife also enjoyed traveling and had visited nearly every state. He especially enjoyed spending the winter months in Florida.
He is survived by children E. Cecil Cregger, Jr and wife Carol of Keymar, Eugene Cregger and wife Sharon of Keymar, Evan Cregger and wife Janet of Frederick; brothers Irvan, Arnold, Leslie and Marvin and sisters Fern Bodmer and Gwenda Fuss and many nieces and nephews. He was the proud grandparent of 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents Luther and Ada Cregger of Emmitsburg, sister Ruby Fitzpatrick and brothers Wayne and Rhudy Cregger.
The family will receive friends at Stauffer’s Funeral Home at 1621 Opposumtown Pike, Frederick on Monday, October 8th from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm and on Tuesday October 9, at Frederick Christian Fellowship, 10142 Hansonville Road, Frederick, MD 21702, South Building from 11:00am until time of Funeral Services beginning at Noon Pastor James Ruddy, Sr. Pastor of Bethel Assembly of God, will be officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
