Ellen Mary Tarpey

Mrs. Ellen Mary Tarpey, age 94, of Frederick, went to be with the Lord on April 21, 2025. She was the wife of John Patrick Tarpey, her loving husband of 65 years. Born on December 9, 1930 in Walpole, MA, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Margaret Robinson.

Ellen is survived by her 8 children, 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Children: Deborah and husband Robert O’Brien of Winchester, MA; John, Denver, CO; Patricia and husband Marc Read of Gilford, NH; Joseph and wife Diana of Winterset, IA; James and wife Kimberly of Clive, IA; Gregory and wife Diane of Bay Minette, AL; Kathleen and husband Wesley Tyeryar of Frederick, MD; and Kenneth and Selina of Suffolk, VA. Grandchildren: Caitlin and Michael O’Brien; Erin, Sean, and Ryan Tarpey; Emma and Samuel Read; James, Jon, and Joseph Tarpey; Megan and Brittany Tarpey; Jennifer and Matthew Auger; Riley Tyeryar; Zachary and Owen Tarpey; Beverly McPhail; Alexandria Wisniewski, and Dawson Lawhon. Great grandchildren: Lucy and Sydney Parla; Simone Nadeau; Brendan, Rory, and John Cunning; Finnegan Flaherty; Delaney Tarpey; James Price; Morgan Shuck; Eliot and Nora Young; Mia Tyeryar; and Nolan Tarpey.

Ellen is predeceased by her brothers Stanley, Richard, and Charles, her sister, Lois; grandchildren Jeffrey Tarpey, Nicole and Jessica Auger; and Maxwell Tyeryar. She is survived by her sister, Marjorie Snow, of Foxboro.

Funeral services for Ellen will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 24, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Avenue, Walkersville, MD, 21793. Arrangements are by Stauffer Funeral Home, Frederick, MD. Online condolences may be expressed at staufferfuneralhome.com.
