Mrs. Ellen May Kennedy, 88, of Frederick, MD passed away Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Kennedy.
Born September 1, 1923 in New Market, MD she was the daughter of the late Myrtlen and Susan Cecil Sheets.
Mrs. Kennedy was a 1940 graduate of Frederick High School and a graduate from Strayer College in Washington, D.C. Prior to her retirement she worked for 35 years at Ft. Detrick as a supply technician in the logistics department and then later a secretary to the purchasing agent. May was a longtime member of Calvary United Methodist Church, a life member of Frederick Memorial Hospital’s Auxillary Volunteer and N.A.R.F.E.
Mrs. Kennedy is survived by her daughter Carole B. Pepin and husband George of MA; niece Donna Gambill; nephew Robert T. Sheets, Jr.; grandson Christopher Pepin and good friends Larry and Shirley Tressler and Vivian Votipka.
She is preceded in death by her brother Robert T. Sheets, Sr.; her sister Pearl Flohr, her first husband Howard Burke and second husband Charles H. Long.
Services will be private.
