Ella Bresee

March 12, 2007 — September 15, 2022

Urbana

Ella Bresee, 15, of Urbana, Maryland, passed from this life on Thursday, September 15, 2022. The past 15 years have been the best years of our life because we were able to have you as our light. Ella's life was cut tragically short after a diagnosis of Medulloblastoma.  Throughout the last 17 months of her life she bravely fought this disease in which she often conquered.
Ella was born on March 12, 2007 and was the loving daughter of Richard and Meghan Bresee.

Ella attended Urbana High School. She loved Sweet Babe and Starbucks Dates.  She enjoyed long car rides with her mom or sisters going absolutely no where or to run random errands and watching Netflix series or scary movies on the couch with her family. She especially loved laying in bed with her dad and watching Survivor every Wednesday night. (Stranger Things, The Wrong Missy, Murder Mystery, Parenthood and Tinkerbelle were some of her favorites).  She cherished her relationship with her mom, as long as she was with her mom, she was happy. She also looked forward to going to her Nail Tech to get the most sparkly nails possible.

Before Ella got sick she loved to play basketball, over the last year that love of basketball had not gone away she just transitioned from playing the game to watching her sister play.

She loved everything about Clemson, especially watching her big brother play football and bragging about who he was. Spending time with her niece was something that always kept a smile on her face. Every morning when she woke up and if her mom wasn’t at her side, she would immediately ask for Fonzie, her 8 year old Schiicon dog. Ella would refer to him as her therapy dog.

In addition to her parents, Ella is survived by her siblings, Bailey, Kendall and Bryan Bresee; grandparents, Sue Flynn and Richard Charles; godparents, Michael and Kary Gilligan; niece, Callie Wilkes; brother-in-law, Michael Wilkes.  She is also survived by a host of aunts and uncles Karen and Bill Sheehan, Beth and Phil Alegret and Michael Bresee and cousins, Billy, Michael and Lauren Sheehan and Kevin and Abigail Alegret.

She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Phil Flynn, grandma, Callie Charles, great-grandma, Elizabeth Murphy, aunt, Virginia Fritz and great-aunt, Patricia Murphy.

She loved until the end, Ella was nothing if not joyful. We will all greatly miss her smile and adventuresome spirit. But now, we are grateful that she knows what it's like to be genuinely unbound without disease, pain, or treatment.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Monday, September 19, 2022 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, MD. 21702.

A celebration of Ella's life will take place at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at Covenant Life Church, 7501 Muncaster Mill Road  in Gaithersburg , MD.  Kera Drabick, Pastor Dan Lian and Pastor Todd Keeler will officiate.  Interment will be private.

Please note:  Event Information: BRIGHT COLORS
Ella saw a black hearse driving home from the hospital a few weeks ago not knowing how sick she was she told my mom that she didn’t want a normal funeral, she didn’t want people to wear black, she didn’t want to be driven in a black hearse. She wanted her immediate family to dress in pink and orange and everyone else the brightest colors they have!

Expressions of sympathy may be offered to the family at StaufferFuneralHome.com.
