May 5, 1913 — October 13, 2009

Elizabeth Moler Wheeler, 96, of Brunswick, passed away on October 13, 2009 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

Born on May 5, 1913, she was the daughter of Frederick Shipley and Pearl Shewbridge Moler, and the last of her immediate family.

Graduating from Brunswick High School in 1931, she later married Elmer F. Painter, now deceased, and became the mother of one son, Dale S. Painter, who predeceased her in 1995.

She married a second time to Howard F. Wheeler, who was also deceased in 1998.

Elizabeth took great pride in taking care of the home place on A Street. She also had a talent for art and rug making, and felt crossword puzzles increased her knowledge. She loved her self-proclaimed title of Queen Elizabeth and enjoyed having visits with everyone. Many of her younger years were spent taking care of nieces and nephews.

Fondly known as Aunt Liz, she is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews of her deceased siblings: Ewell (Jack) Moler, Madeline Virts, Howard (Chum) Moler, Maxine Zimmerman, and J. Frederick (Bumps) Moler; special nieces and nephews: Duane & Lee Smith, Nancy Virts, Regina Bayne, Marcella & Dick Boone, Bonny & John Wenner, and Mark & Emily Moler and their families who found numerous ways to honor her, and enjoy her sense of humor. These include Ritchie, Bryan & Michael Veverka with whom she resided during her last several years, and special memories shared by Mary Gayle Domer & children, Coady, Abigayle and Matthew Domer & family, Nikki, Lee, Ryan; Mindy, Tim, Christine, Courtney Niles; Teri, Heather, Ashley Alva; Susan, Donn, Matthew, Katy Miller; Chris, Jim, Daniel and Joshua Chevalier; Lynne, Barry, Philip, Dorothy Muirhead; Debbie, Danny, Daniel, Jeffrey, Andrew Crabb; Amy, Steve Dinges; Danny, Jennifer Wenner.

Her survivors include her granddaughter, Karon Voyles Patsch of Rowlett, TX, and two great- granddaughters, Layson White and Caden Voyles also of Texas; step-daughter, Shirley Utterback.

Elizabeth was pre-deceased by stepsons, Jack & Gene Wheeler, and nephews, Arlette Zimmerman and Noel Virts, and by Gary Virts who was her guide and comfort whenever she needed him. Through her 96 years, Elizabeth felt she was the jolly one of the family, and will be greatly missed.
