Elizabeth "Beth" Gardner

Elizabeth "Beth" Anne (Lapole) Gardner, 30, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed from this life on Monday, June 11, 2012 at her home.

Born on April 5, 1982, in Hagerstown, she is the daughter of Deborah S. Thompson and her husband Richard Gross of Hagerstown, and Gary A. Lapole and his wife Mae of Boonsboro.

Beth was an honor graduate in 2000 from Boonsboro High School, and received her Bachelor of Art's degree in Psychology from Hood College in Frederick.

She was employed as the administrative assistant with Lapole Electric in Boonsboro.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Michael E. Gardner of Boonsboro; one son, Colby Michael-Allen Gardner, age 3; her brother, James G. Lapole of Boonsboro; her grandmothers, RoseMarie Thompson of Knoxville, Maryland, Rosalie Lapole of Gapland, Maryland, and Mary Cassesa of Tennessee; two uncles, Keith Thompson and wife Kathy of Knoxville, and Brian Lapole and wife Sherry of Hagerstown; and three cousins, J. P. Thompson and wife Kaya, Jason Thompson, and Lexie Hemming.  She is also survived by many other extended family members.

Beth was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Clifford W. Thompson, Martin D. Lapole, and Dominic Cassesa; and her aunt, Darlene Laird.

A celebration in memory of Beth will be held at 12 noon on Friday, June 15, 2012 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro.  Rev. Jack C. Payne, Jr. will officiate.  Burial will be held privately by the family.

The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
