Elizabeth Schuyler Serritella

Elizabeth "Betty" Schuyler Serritella, 74, of Laytonsville, Maryland, was called into God’s loving arms on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. She was the loving wife of James J. Serritella, to whom she was married to for 47 years.

Born on December 4, 1950, in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late William E. Schuyler Jr. and K. Jean (Horton) Schuyler. 

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Vincent James Serritella, and wife Stephanie Owen, an older brother William "Wes" E. Schuyler, III, and sister Majel (Schuyler) Dunn. There are many nephews and nieces. There are 2 rescued dogs at home and 3 rescued grand-dogs. 

Betty was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Botany Cross Chapter; Damascus American Legion, Unit 171; and the Catholic Daughters of America (CDA), St. Paul Chapter. Betty’s faith in God and Country were highly visible with her dedication to the Blessed Virgin Mary as supported by the CDA. 

A Memorial Mass will begin at 11 on Wednesday, February 19 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 9240 Damascus Road in Damascus, MD, with the family receiving friends from 10 to 11 at church. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
