Elizabeth M. Kunkle, 88, of Fairfield, Pa., died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010, at The Village of Laurel Run. Born May 6, 1922, in Greensburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Irwin R. and Celia Marie Hadaway Thompson. She was the wife of the late William W. Kunkle.
She was a member of the Keymar Wesleyan Church. She was also a longtime member of Armbrust Wesleyan Church, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school and Bible school and was an active member in the missionary society.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing, taking trips with the triple teens, gardening and nature.
Surviving are daughters Lois Kramer and husband Dean, of Fairfield, and Ruth Ellen Kunkle, of Greensburg, Pa.; a son, Charles Richard Kunkle and wife Kathleen, of Grand Rapids, Mich.; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, James Thompson; and sisters Margaret Baird and Frances Barnhart.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Armbrust Wesleyan Church in Armbrust, Pa., and from 10 a.m. until the time of service, 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Interment will be in Hillview Cemetery in Greensburg. Online condolences may be offered at www.staufferfuneralhome.com
