Elizabeth A. Bianchi, 90, of Greenbelt, Maryland, passed from this life on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Julia Manor Health Care Center, Hagerstown. She was the wife of the late Peter V. Bianchi, a very well known 20th Century Religious Artist. Born on January 19, 1928, in Syracuse, NY, she was the daughter of John Farley Thomas and Kathryn (Burgun) Thomas.
Mrs. Bianchi had a Master's Degree in Literature and taught school for many years. She retired from the US Federal Government as a GS14 and was a computer analyst. Elizabeth led a Rosary prayer group for 12 years at St. John the Evangelist Church in Silver Spring with her husband, Peter and was a member of St. Hugh of Grenoble Catholic Church in Greenbelt. She was a very religious person with a great devotion to the Virgin Mary. Mrs. Bianchi was very proactive and gave great care and friendship to others; she was loved by everyone she knew. Her witty humor will be missed by all.
She is survived by nephews, John Thomas of Oregon, Joseph Thomas of Spain and Michael Thomas of California as well as a cousin, William F. Bush and his wife Carole of Thurmont. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Dolores Petry and a brother, John Robert Thomas.
A memorial mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 26 at St. Anthony's Shrine Parish, 16150 St. Anthony's Road, Emmitsburg. Interment will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Emmitsburg.
