Elisabeth "Liesl" Marie (Wetzstein) Long, 84, of Walkersville, Maryland, passed away on February 10, 2019 at Heartfield Assisted Living. She was the wife of 61 years to Harry Donald Long.

Born on August 25, 1934 in Munich, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Johann and Elisabeth (Haslinger) Wetzstein. Elisabeth was an Avon Representative for over 30 years and was a member at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed numerous things throughout her life including gardening, sewing, knitting, and travel.  Had a deep love of nature, particularly her Bavarian Alps and a great passion for animals---especially dogs.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Marion Chrest of Santa Maria, CA, Karin McClanathan of Mercersburg, PA and Tina Moir of Frederick; grandchildren, Jaime VanHorn, Jessie Brown and Brandon Chrest; great-grandchildren, Bronson Brown, Carson Brown and Morgan VanHorn; and sister, Ilse Furmann of Munich, Germany.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Johann Wetzstein and Helmut Wetzstein and sister, Ingebort Furmann.

The family will receive friends from 5-8pm on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, 40 Fulton Avenue, Walkersville, MD 21793. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30pm on Friday, February 15, 2019 at St. Timothy’s Roman Catholic Church 8651 Biggs Ford Road, Walkersville, MD 21793. Interment will follow in Glade Cemetery, Walkersville, MD.
