Elena Poole

Elena Mae (Earp) Poole, 70, of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed suddenly from this life on Friday, January 10, 2014 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown.

Born on December 18, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Herbert W. and Iva D. (Trent) Earp, Sr.

Elena attended Sherwood High School and worked for many years at the Dairy Queen in Aspen Hill, Maryland.

She was blessed with musical talent and taught many people how to play various different instruments.

Elena was a loving wife, sister and mother who will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, David A. Poole; one son, David L. Poole of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; one sister, Rosemary Frank and husband Richard of Gaithersburg, Maryland; one brother, Herbert W. Earp, Jr. and wife Patricia of Woodbine, Maryland; three grandchildren, Brian K. Poole of Tamaqua, Pennsylvania, David L. Poole, Jr. of Olney, Maryland, and Krista D. Poole of Frederick, Maryland; and one great granddaughter Leslie Elena Poole.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Tony L. Earp.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at the Boonsboro Family Worship Center, 7605 Old National Pike in Boonsboro.  Rev. Jack C. Payne, Jr. will officiate.  Final resting place ceremonies will follow at the Patuxent Cemetery at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church in Sunshine, Maryland.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, January 13, 2014 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro.
