Eleanor A. Smith Wilt of Adamstown passed away on January 15, 2018. Born March 8, 1925 to Charles B. Smith and Lorena M. Gwin Smith, she is survived by daughter Joy Clem and husband David, son Gwin Wilt and wife Marlene, daughter-in-law Peggy Wilt, grandchildren Tracey Wilt, Melanie Divel, Sara Wilt and great-grandchildren Kenny Jr., Autumn, Brandon, Jonah, and Anissa. Also survived by “adopted daughter” Julie Costello and special friend Libby Hanes.
She is predeceased by her husband Vivian S. Wilt, her parents, her sister Lorena Smith Mobery, her son Wayne Wilt, grandson Jason Gloyd, and special niece Bonnie Willard. Also predeceased by Grace “Nannie” Wilt, best friends Shirley Miller and Betty Lou VanSant, and friends P. M. Van Sant, William Shreve, and Dan Miller.
Eleanor was a devoted wife and caregiver for 45 years. She loved her family, friends, dancing and especially Elvis Presley. She also loved watching T.V., 30’s and 40’s movies and visiting Hawaii. She will be greatly missed.
Visitation at Stauffer’s Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, on Friday January 19th from 6-8 pm and again at 9 am Saturday, January 20, until time of service at 10:00 am. Pastor Jerry M. Cline will officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions to the Alzheimers Association, Westerm Md.
