Eleanor Candaffio

Eleanor "Ellie" Candaffio, 74, of Ijamsville, passed away on Friday, April 7, 2023.  She was the wife of the late Fred Gray.  Born on April 18, 1948, in Queens, NY, she was the daughter of Julius Basko and Theresa (Eory) Basko.

Ellie worked hard her entire life to provide for her family.  She began her career bartending, attended word processing school, and eventually became Vice President of Prudential.

She is survived by her children, Chris Candaffio and wife Christina, Mari Blankenship and significant other Rob and Joe Candaffio and wife Megan; grandchildren: Joe and wife Carrie, Emily, Sam, Tony, Allie and significant other Gary Jones, Matt, Kevin, Jacob and fiance Kirsten Jensen, Jade, Abby, Elliot and Kyle as well as great-grandchildren Mila, Grayson, Sawyer and Isabella.  She was expecting her fifth great-grandchild in May.  Ellie is also survived by her step-children, Kim Fitzgerald and husband Mike, Corey Gray and wife Stephanie and Shane Gray and wife Cheryl, as well as their children: Michael, Kristen, Dava, Cody and Taylor; as well as her sister, Dorothy Catalano and her husband Joe.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Lois.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 11 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville Boulevard, Mt. Airy, MD.
