Elaine was born June 30, 1932 in Utica, N.Y. The family moved to Des Planes, IL in 1940 and Atlanta, Ga. In 1946. Elaine attended North Fulton High School where she not only was an excellent student but an excellent basketball player. Elaine married and had 3 wonderful children---Patricia Skipper of Chantilly, Va., Susan Nichols of Westcliffe, Co., and Robert Ramsdell of Woodstock, Ga.
Elaine’s true love was bowling. Not only was she an outstanding bowler, she also was an outstanding supporter of the sport. All of Elaine’s bowling friends called her “Big E”. She was affiliated with the Cobb WBA since 1958 and the Georgia WBA and served on local & state levels for approximately 50 years. She was Cobb Associations Parliamentarian, Sgt.-at-Arms, Director, President, Vice President and Association Treasurer. In 1983 she was awarded Life Membership in the Cobb WBA. She served on the State Association Board for 19 years. Included among her assignments – Membership Services, Hall of Fame, Tournament Planning, Legislative, Finance & Budget, Auditing Resolutions, Georgia Dinner, Queens and BVL (Bowlers Victory Legion). Elaine bowled in over 25 state & WIBC Tournaments, earned the Presidential Sports Award in Bowling, member of the 600 Club & the 225 Club where she was Club Advisor for over 12 years. In 1985 Elaine was elected to the Georgia Women’s Bowling Hall of Fame. In 1987 she was elected to the Cobb Women’s Bowling Assoc. Hall of Fame.
For the last 4 years Elaine has been living with her sister, Marlene Frazier in Frederick, MD. Along with her previously mention children & sister, Elaine also leaves 3 grandchildren: Alex Colvin of Ashburn, Va., Waverly Sineath of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Caitlin Walker of Smyrna, Ga., and 3 great grandchildren: Alexa Colvin & Cameron Colvin of Ashburn, Va., and Hadley Duesing of Port Charlotte, Fla.
Burial will be private in Woodstock, Georgia. Please remember Elaine and her wonderful life with a contribution to the Alzheimer’s Association.
