Elaine Dotson

Elaine L. Dotson, 87, of Mount Airy, Maryland passed from this life on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Virginia.

Born on April 16, 1937, in Parrsville, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Carroll and Ethel Dorsey. Elaine was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Dotson, and her son, Kevin Dotson. She is survived by her son; Marvin Dotson of Mount Airy, daughter; Sherry Dotson of Mount Airy, and her sister; Joyce and her husband Hudson of Sykesville; four granddaughters, Rishena Summers, of Mount Airy, Nekisha Dotson, of Germantown, Latressa and Derrick Goines, of West Virginia, and Qiana and husband Joshua Cross of North Carolina. She is also survived by her six great-grandchildren, Marcus Cobb, Malik Summers, Malcolm Summers, Malia Summers, Noah Goines, and Kayden Cross.

Elaine worked for many years at Pleasant View nursing home, in the dietary department, until her retirement.

Elaine enjoyed spending most of her time with her family, gardening, cooking, and watching her daytime soap operas.

Home going services for Elaine will be private for the immediate family.
