Mrs. Eileen Patricia Dixon, 82, of Mt. Airy, died suddenly at their home on Saturday, March 21, 2015. She was the beloved wife of Jack E. Dixon, her husband of 60 years.
Her family is deeply saddened, these include her son, George, and her three daughters, Kathleen, Helen and Patricia. Their grief is shared by her son in-laws Edwin Otto and John Castle. Eileen was loved by those who cherished her for her lively sense of humor and for the deep devotion she had to those around her. Eileen was born in Dublin and although marrying Jack, the handsome American sailor, and later becoming an American, there was always a part of herself still in Dublin. She was fortunate to have a large and loving family as a child. Later she delighted in her own family of six, and was an active church member and a member of many women's clubs. However, her main interest in life always remained her children and her fabulous grandchildren. She was immensely proud of her grandchildren Luke, Megan, Eve, Shannon, Kevin, Robby, and Danny. Eileen Patricia Dixon will be sorely missed by her husband of 60 years, Jack, and the wonderful family they created together.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM on Tuesday, March 24, at St. Michael's Catholic Church at Poplar Springs, 1125 St. Michael's Rd., Mt. Airy, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 2:00 PM with Rev. Michael J. Ruane as Celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
