Mr. Edwin L. King, 82 of Thurmont, MD passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Northampton Manor Nursing Home. He was the husband of Joanne King. They were married for 37 years.
Born, January 3, 1930 in Roanoke, VA he was the son of the late James and Lenora Virginia King.
He was employed by Glen E. Waltz Heating & Plumbing for 23 years. He also worked on a dairy farm.
He enjoyed riding horses, gardening and he loved picking on his grandchildren. He also enjoyed participating in rodeos in his younger years.
In addition to his loving wife, Joanne he is survived by a daughter, Patricia “Trisha” Clinton and husband Bubby, step daughter, Mary Gaither, five grandchildren, Jessica, Joanne, Anthony, Jonathan and Shana, great grandchildren, Aaliyah and Desiree, three sisters, Maybel Baugher and husband Jim, Wanda Baugher, Betty Joe Funkhouse, three brothers, Jerry King, George King and Lester King and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ralph King, Roy King, Jimmy King and Paul King and his sister, Shirley Bercroft.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Ave.,Walkersville on Wednesday, January 18th from 2-4 and 7-9PM. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, January 19th at 11:00AM with Pastor Sue Koenig officiating.
Interment will be in Rocky Hill Cemetery.
