Edward Robert Plews, 89, of Boonsboro, formerly of Philadelphia, PA, passed away, Tuesday, October 8, 2019, at Fahrney-Keedy Senior Living Community.
Born September 5, 1930 in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Edward Thomas Plews and Louise Anna Egloff Plews.
Ed graduated from Olney High School, Philadelphia, PA in 1948. He went to business school for 2 years. He worked for MAB Paint Co. as a sales manager and part time complaint adjuster, retiring after 43 years.
He was a member of the Tabor Lutheran Church in Philadelphia, serving on the usher association and church council as financial secretary, as well as head of the building committee.
Ed moved to Fahrney-Keedy Retirement Village in 1994 and became a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Boonsboro.
He is survived by a cousin, Beatrice Egloff; two nieces, Susan Reeder and husband Dean, Charlene Kaetzel and husband Pete; nephews, Jason Reeder and wife Erin, Bryan Reeder and wife Dana, Scott Kaetzel, Andrew Kaetzel and wife Jackie, Nathan Kaetzel and wife Kim; 12 grand-nephews, 3 grand- nieces. And a dear friend, Ann Brenneman who was just like a daughter.
A service will be held at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, on Monday, October 14, 2019 at 10:00 am with Chaplain Robin Covell officiating. Interment to follow at Forest Hills Cemetery in Philadelphia.
Memorial donations may be made to The Salvation Army or Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
