Edward Meyer
March 23, 1934 — March 31, 2018
Edward L Meyer, 84, died Saturday March 31, 2018 at the Homewood Retirement Care Center in Frederick MD.
He leaves his wife Mary of 24 years; four daughters, Sharon Gorman and her husband Don; Terri Meyer; Sandy Felke and her husband Tim; Lorrie Meyer; a step daughter Liz Prichard and her husband Brian; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Ed will be remembered for his kind heart, gentle nature and infectious sense of humor. He worked for 44 years in the Aerospace Industry, highlights of which include the design of a camera mounting in Apollo spacecraft, CIA reconnaissance satellites and the Hubbel Telescope servicing programs.
A high school basketball champion, Ed married his high school sweetheart Joan, who passed away in 1988. Ed was blessed to marry again in 1993.
He was quite a “handy” guy around the house and an avid woodworker. He was a great listener and was always cracking jokes, which he seemed to enjoy more than anyone else.
A memorial service will be held Thursday April 5, 2018 at 2pm in the chapel at Homewood at Crumland Farms. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Evangelical Reformed United Church of Christ, 15 West Church St. Frederick, MD 21701.
