Edward Joseph Kuzas, Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2024. He was born on February 27, 1928, in Homestead, Pennsylvania to Anton Kuzas and Anna Marie Pangonis Kuzas.
Edward led an impressive career, dedicating his time and expertise to the railroad industry. He worked for Southern Railway for 32 years. The company merged as the Norfolk Southern Railway where he worked for an additional 4 years.
Edward proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was honorably discharged on November 2, 1951.
Edward's life was filled with cherished and fond memories with family and friends. He looked forward to his regime of exercise and enjoyed the many walks taken with his wife. He was preceded in death by his parents Anton Kuzas and Anna Marie Pangonis Kuzas, as well as his first wife Mary Kathleen Kuzas and step-daughter, Cynthia Abbott.
Edward is survived by his loving wife Mary Virginia Kuzas. His legacy lives on through his children: Anne Marie Kuzas of Longs, SC., Edward Joseph Kuzas, Jr. of Libertytown, MD., Mary Elaine May of Bowie, MD.; Charles Anthony Kuzas of Pawleys Island, SC., and Kathleen Ann Sink of Vinton, VA; brother, Charles (Sonny) Pangonis of Indiana, PA., Edward also leaves behind step-son Richard A. Parry of Cary, NC., seven grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren and numerous step great grandchildren.
Edward Joseph Kuzas Sr. will forever be remembered for his kind heart and gentle spirit. Those who had the privilege of knowing him will recall his unwavering love for his family and friends.
To honor Edward's life and pay tribute to his memory, visitation services will be held on January 10, 2024, from 11:00am to 12:00 pm at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 4101 Norbeck Road Rockville, MD. 20853 A Mass will follow at 12:00pm in the same location. The family will have a private interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Edward Joseph Kuzas Sr. will forever remain in our hearts as a beacon of love and strength. Though he may no longer be with us physically, his legacy and the impact he made on the lives of those around him will continue to shine brightly. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
