Mr. Edward A. Gladstone, 87, of West Friendship, MD formerly of Brunswick, MD passed away Friday, December 13, 2013 at Howard County General Hospital. He was the husband of Ruth S. Gladstone.
Born on July 22, 1926 in Brunswick, MD he was the son of the late John W. and Statton Evans Gladstone.
Mr. Gladstone proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was an active member of New Hope United Methodist Church, Brunswick. Edward worked as a Financial Economist for the Federal Government. Edward was chairman of the Brunswick Planning Committee, former President of the Brunswick Railroad Museum, a member of the American Legion, Brunswick and also an avid golfer.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children Laura Reichard( Gary) of MD, Bruce (Brian) of Wisconsin and David (Virginia) of VA; brother Arthur of WV; sisters Marion DeLauder of MD, Marcella Himes of Brunswick and Kate King of CA; 7 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 N. Maple Ave., Brunswick on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 from 7-9PM where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 18 at 11AM. Dr. Kenneth Fell will officiate.
Interment will follow at Union Cemetery, Lovettsville, Va.
