Mr. Edward “Ed” B. Dalkiewicz, 88, of Berlin, Maryland, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Coastal Hospice on the Lake. He was the husband of Grace Calabro Dalkiewicz, his wife of 64 years.
He was born September 10, 1924 in Luzerne County, PA. Ed served in the Air Force during WWII, in the Pacific Theatre.
He resided for many years in Silver Spring, Mt. Airy, and Berlin, MD. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, member of St. Camillus in Silver Spring, St. Michaels , Poplar Spring, where he was a member of both choirs for many years, and St. John Neuman, Berlin, all in Maryland. He retired as an engineer from NASA in Greenbelt.
He is also survived by his children David Dalkiewicz (Connie) of Ocean Pines, MD, Samuel Dalkiewicz of Selbyville, DE, Edward Dalkiewicz (Kathleen) and Judith Turner (Stephen) all of New Market, MD, grandchildren Stephen Turner (Leah), Daniel Turner (Katie), Grace Turner (Louis) Kiel June and Edward Dalkiewicz, and great-grandchildren Michael and Liam Turner.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michaels Catholic Church, Poplar Spring, MD on Tuesday, January 22, at 11:00 am with Father Michael Ruane as celebrant. The family will receive friends, at the church, 1 hour prior to the Mass.
Interment will be in Clark Summitt, PA.
Contributions may be made to the Knights of Columbus, Mt. Airy, MD, the American Legion Post #191 or the VFW Post # 10076 in Mt. Airy.
