Edward Bachtell, Jr.

Mr. Edward L. Bachtell, Jr., 94 of Walkersville, MD passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2018. He was the husband of June Frey Bachtell for 71 years.
Born April 29, 1923 in Smithburg, MD he was the son of the late Edward and Juanita Bachtell.
After high school he worked for Landis in Waynesboro, PA, he then worked for Ox Fiber Brush Company in Frederick and he retired from Fairchild Industries.
Edward was a member of St. John’s UCC in Woodsboro, MD. He was also a member of the Walkersville Volunteer Fire Department.
In addition to his loving wife June he is survived by his son, James Bachtell and wife Gay, daughter, Karen Byrnes and husband Leo, his sister, Betty Kelly and husband Bernard, sister-n-laws, Ann Bachtell and Anna Bachtell, grandchildren, Amy Thompson and husband Brian, Justin Bachtell and wife Kelly, Stacy Bratburd and husband Chris, and Stephanie Doyle and husband Ryan, great grandchildren, Corey Thompson, Kennedy Bachtell, Catherine Bachtell, Brayden Bratburd, Kinsley Bratburd and Lily Doyle.
He is preceded in death by his grandson, Matthew Bachtell.
A memorial service celebrating Edward’s life will be held on Saturday, January 27th at 11:30am at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. The family will be present to receive friends one-hour prior from 10:30-11:30am.
