Edna Maloney

Edna Barth Maloney , 98, of Mount Airy, Maryland, passed from this life on Sunday, June 17, 2018 at Ridge Overlook in Westminister, MD

Born in Woodbine, MD, she was the daughter of Albert R Barth and Nina I (Crum) Barth.

She graduated from Lisbon High School in Howard County, class of 1937.

Edna worked at the Howard County Farm Bureau and Miller Chevolet.  She retired from the University of Maryland Research Farm on Folley Quarter Road, Howard County.

She was a member of St. Michael's Church, Poplar Springs for over 70 years.  She loved smocking, sewing, gardening and was a 4-H sewing leader.

Edna is survived by daughter, Janet (Gary) Wachter; son, Billy (Hazel) Maloney; grandchildren, Shelby Marlarkey, Christy Bryson, Jeff Maloney, Kelley Wachter, Sara Miller and Scott Wachter.  She is also survived by 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

The family will receive friends from  11:00 - 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville Mt. Airy, MD

A celebration of Edna's life journey will follow at the funeral home at 12:00 pm.  Father Michael Ruane will officiate.  Interment will be at Pine Grove Cemetery (Mt. Airy) in  Mount Airy, MD.
