Edna R. Harrison, a beloved member of the Frederick community, passed away on July 7, 2023. She was born on December 21, 1926, in Johnsville, Maryland, to George W. Keeney and Myrtle Dinterman Keeney.

Throughout her life, Edna had various careers that shaped her character and endeared her to those around her. She worked at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C., where she showcased her hospitality and warm-heartedness. She also exhibited her remarkable sewing skills as a seamstress at the Hartzler Sewing factory. Additionally, Edna dedicated her time to Frederick High School, where she worked in the cafeteria and became an integral part of the school community.

Edna had a lively spirit and zest for life that was evident in everything she did. She shared beautiful memories with her husband as they explored every corner of Frederick during their walks together. These adventures not only brought them closer but also allowed them to forge lasting friendships with fellow residents of the town.

One of Edna's most endearing qualities was her ability to always brighten up family gatherings with her stories and infectious humor. Her independent nature, strong will, kindness, determination, and humorous anecdotes will forever be treasured by those who knew her.

Edna's love for crafting and word search puzzles brought joy into her life. These hobbies allowed her to express her creativity and intellectual curiosity while providing a sense of calm and contentment.

Edna's passing leaves a void in the lives of all who cherished her, but we find solace in the memories we shared with this remarkable woman. She is survived by a loving family who will carry on her legacy of strength and compassion.

Edna is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, John Harrison, as well as her parents George W. Keeney and Myrtle Dinterman Keeney. She also mourned the loss of her daughter, Virginia Moore (Frank),  step-sons, John Gilbert Harrison, and Billy Harrison. Edna was preceded in death by her sisters: Pauline Marvel, Gladys King (Robert), Catherine Fogleson (Luther), and Helen Honaker (James). Her brothers William Keeney (Airy), Elmer Keeney (Ginny), and George Keeney (Kathy) also preceded her in death.

Edna is survived by her son L. Clifton Fuhrman, Jr. (Mary), who will cherish her memory forever. She was a loving grandmother to Erik Moore and wife, Kelly, Megan Smith, Andrea Fuhrman, and Katie Fuhrman, all of whom brought immense joy to her life. Edna was also a cherished step-mother to Audrey Myrick (Paul) and Beverly Harrison, as well as a beloved step-daughter-in-law to Teresa Harrison. She is survived by her brother John Keeney (Patricia) and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren other family members who mourn her loss deeply.

To celebrate Edna's life, visitation will be held on July 10th, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Stauffer Funeral Home in Frederick. Family and friends are invited to come together on July 11th, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Stauffer Funeral Home for a Celebration of Life ceremony in honor of Edna R. Harrison. Interment will follow at Rocky Hill Cemetery in Woodsboro at 12:00 PM.

The family would like the express their sincere appreciation to Amada Senior care and Frederick Health Hospice for their loving care that was extended to Edna.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her name to Frederick Health Hospice, 516 Trail Avenue, Frederick, MD. 21701 or the Frederick Rescue Mission-Beacon House, 419 West South Street, Frederick, MD 21701.

Edna R. Harrison's presence in our lives will forever be cherished and remembered with love. Her unwavering kindness, resilience, and joyful spirit touched the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. As we say our final goodbyes to our dear Edna, let us hold onto the memories that bring us comfort and allow her legacy to live on in our hearts.
