Marie Dodd Clem, 90, of Thurmont, MD passed away on June 9, 2017. at Citizen’s Nursing Home.
Marie was born on August 17, 1926 in Mckaig, Maryland. She was the daughter of the late Charles Moss Dodd, Sr. and Rosie Elizabeth (Masser) Dodd.
She graduated from Frederick High School class of 1944 and the Visitation Academy Class of 1945. She retired from Airpax after 40 years of service as a secretary.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great- great-grandmother. She is survived by her two daughters, Jan (husband, Donnie Ely) and Cindy (husband, Jack Long); grandchildren, Brent Croghan, Ann Khoury, John Croghan, III, Patrick Croghan, David Croghan, Jeff Long, Shelley Degrange and Kelly Rippeon, Donnie Jr. and Dennis Ely; great-grandchildren, Ben, Jonathan, Emma, Sarah, Kaitlyn, Rebecca, Adam, Lillian, Lindsey, Hunter, Sean, Lyla, Kate, one great- great-grandchild, Alayna.
She was predeceased in death by her parents, husband Kenneth, her brother Charles and sisters Elaine and Myrlee.
She was a member of the Calvary Methodist Church, AARP, American Legion and Rainbow Belles. She loved spending time with her family.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 16, 2017 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Frederick.
