Mrs. Edith Pauline Ventimiglia, 84, of Emmitsburg, MD passed away Sunday, December 23, 2012 surrounded by her children at St. Catherine's Nursing Center. She was the wife of the late John M. Ventimiglia.
Born June 5, 1928 in Akron, OH, one of eleven children she was the daughter of the late Earl and Edith Cochrane.
Edith was a homemaker. Her greatest joy was raising her children and being with her grandchildren. Edith was also a church member of Weverton Baptist Church.
She is survived by her 5 children, 12 grandchildren and 8 1/2 great grandchildren, Donetta Ventimiglia and husband Charles Herbert and their children Kaitlyn and Kelsey Herbert, Dean and his wife Patty Ventimiglia and their children Charlie Payne, Jessica and Kimberly Ventimiglia, Duane Ventimiglia and his wife Sally and their son Duane Ventimiglia Jr., Donald Ventimiglia and his children Laura Wagaman, James and Christina Ventimiglia, Dana and Jodell Ventimiglia and their children Donna Ventimiglia, Debra Cain, and Deneen Ventimiglia; brothers Herbert Cochrane of Florida, Eugene Cochrane, David Cochrane, Gordan Cochrane and Daniel Cochrane all of Ohio. She is preceded in death by her grandson Brandon E. Herbert and her brothers Warren Cochrane, James Cochrane, Raymond Cochrane and sisters Mary Mullet and Dorothy Morris.
The family will receive friends at Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main St., Thurmont on Thursday, December 27, 2012 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be held Friday, December 28 at 11 AM, at Weller United Methodist Church, 101 N. Altamount Ave., Thurmont. Rev. Wendall McClellan will officiate.
Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Cemetery.
