Edith Hines

Edith Lucille (Smith) Hines, 84, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at her home.

Born on April 20, 1926 in Boonsboro, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Nellie B. (Grams) Smith.

Edith attended Boonsboro High School.  She was a member of the Fahrney-Keedy Home & Village Chapel.

She was retired from the Washington County Hospital where she worked as a Respiratory Aide.

Edith was also a member of the Clopper-Michael American Legion Post #10 Auxillary in Boonsboro and the Fahrney-Keedy Home & Village Auxillary.

She is survived by her sister, Rosalie Long of Boonsboro; two brothers, Burman Smith of Boonsboro and Drexel Smith of Hagerstown; two granddaughters, Melissa R. Baker and Julie K. Hines Rubeck, both of Hagerstown; eight granchildren; and nine great granchildren.

Edith was preceded in death by her only child, Larry S. Hines in 2001.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro.  Rev. Louis L. Emerick will officiate.  Burial will follow at the Boonsboro Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.
