Edgar Condon, Jr.

Edgar D Condon Jr., 76, of Mount Airy, passed from this life on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Thelma V. Condon, his wife of 49 years.

Born on January 4, 1942, in Frederick County, he was the son of the late Edgar D. Condon, Sr. and Leeanna Elizabeth Wright Condon.

Edgar was a 1960 graduate of Frederick High School and served in the USMC in Vietnam. He worked at Woolco, Standard Building Systems and retired from Ft. Detrick as Tool Crib Attendant. Edgar was an avid Baltimore Orioles and Baltimore Ravens fan, but most of all loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to his wife are daughter, Sharlyn Young and husband Troy of Gambrills, daughter-in-law Beth Condon of Thurmont; five grandchildren: Brooke, Sydney and Blake Young, Ethan and Liam Condon; and a sister, Agatha Condon. He was preceded in death by his son, Bradley Dewitt Condon (who died September 12, 2017), grandson Garrett Robert Condon and  his siblings: Roland Condon, Harry Condon and Elaine Beatty.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Monday, February 5, 2018 at Stauffer Funeral Home 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick.

A celebration of Edgar's life journey will take place at 10:00 am on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, in the funeral home.  Deacon Joseph Wolf will officiate.

Interment will follow in Union Chapel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Libertytown.
