Mrs. E. Viola Snyder Hart, 100, of Mt. Airy died on Saturday, October 9, 2010, at Lorien Life Center, Mt. Airy. She was the wife of the late Paul Snyder and the late John Hart.
Born on April 17, 1910, in Frederick she was the daughter of the late Jeremiah and Bessie Lowman Watkins. She was a homemaker. Viola was the last surviving charter member of the Mt. Airy Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary. Mrs Hart was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church as well as the Rebeka Lodge of the Eastern Star. Viola loved to play Bingo and enjoyed being outside on nice sunny days.
Surviving are a son, Paul Snyder wife Doris Ann of Mt. Airy; and a step-daughter, Patti Hamilton and husband Linden of Frederick. Mrs. Hart was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Linda Palmer.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Wednesday, October 13, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd. in Mt. Airy where funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 14, with Rev. Dennis Yocum officiating.
Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Mt. Airy.
