Mr. Dwight Mason Roy, 91 of Frederick, MD died Monday, July 20, at the Golden Living Center.
He was the husband of the late Ruthellen Lenhart Roy, whom he married Dec. 24, 1950.
Born August 14, 1917 in Rowlesburg, WV, he was the son of the late J. Richard and Susan L. Roy.
Mr. Roy was a school principal and teacher for 34 years, earning degrees from both Frostburg State Teacher's College and Western Maryland College.
Mr. Roy served four years in the U. S. Army during WWII, spending 3 � years in the South Pacific.
He was a member of the Frederick Teachers Association, Frederick County Elementary Principals Association, State Elementary Principals Association, Retired Teachers Association of Frederick County, National Teachers Association Life Member, Civitan Club of Frederick, Men's Club and Men's Bible Class as well as a life-time member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Frederick.
Mr. Roy loved reading and was an avid Washington Redskin's fan.
He is survived by one daughter, Suellen R. Heller and husband Robert of Frederick.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Warden, Robert and Richard Roy.
Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Thursday, July 23, from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8:00 p.m
Services:
Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, July 24, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor David J. Albertson officiating.
Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery
Pallbearers will be Daniel Rippeon, Sr., Tammy Rippeon, Daniel Rippeon, Jr., Jason Rippeon, Eileen Rippeon and Jonathan Ripppeon.
