Dulcie May Biser, 71, of Thurmont, MD passed away on Monday November 28, 2011 at the University of MD Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald Lindbergh Biser.
Born December 12, 1939 in Frederick, MD she was the daughter of the late Charles Bernard and Helen Elizabeth Groshon Bentz.
Dulcie was a longtime member of Graceham Moravian Church. She was an avid bowler for many years on the Women’s bowling league at Arcade Lanes. She really enjoyed music and singing, and followed in her mother’s footsteps by singing with The Canaries. Dulcie also sang in Glee Club and with her church choir. She enjoyed spending time as a volunteer with the local Lion’s club, the senior center and the American Legion. Dulcie was known as a 4-H mom and worked with the Emmistburg Grange.
She is survived by her children Mary Elizabeth Gross and husband Brian of Pennington, NJ, Charles Walter Biser and wife Missy of Syracuse, NY, Barbara Ann Lantz and husband David of Thurmont, Richard Wayne Biser of Thurmont, Patricia Biser Fogle and husband Douglas of Union Bridge, MD; step-children Donald Lee Biser and wife Diane of Hagerstown, MD and Doris Louise Boyer of Williamsport, MD; 17 grandchildren and step-grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brothers Charles Bentz and wife Beatrice, James Bentz and wife Louise and Raymond Bentz and wife Rosie all of Thurmont.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main St., Thurmont on Thursday, December 1, 2011 from 7-9PM. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 2, 2011 at 12PM at Graceham Moravian Church, 8231 Rocky Ridge Rd., Thurmont where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Pastor Sue Koenig will officiate.
Interment will follow at the Graceham Moravian Cemetery.
