Born in Frederick, MD he was the son of the late Raymond E. Smith, Jr. and Shirley M. Smith.
Duane enjoyed playing softball and fishing. He also loved to travel to Myrtle Beach.
He is survived by sister, Wanda Luhn, brother, Dennis Smith.
