Dr. Louis "Lou" Sibal

Dr. Louis “Lou” Richard Sibal, 91, of Rockville, Maryland, passed away on December 12, 2018 peacefully in his sleep.
Lou is preceded in death by his wife Patricia M. Sibal; as well as his son, who passed away earlier this year, Louis “Craig” G. Sibal.
Lou was an accomplished man, serving as the Director of Animal Research at the National Institute of Health for many years.  He enjoyed listening to classical music, attending orchestral productions, traveling, cooking, hosting parties, watching sports, and a strong cocktail.  He particularly enjoyed watching political talk shows and would enthusiastically engage in political debates.  He was hardworking, set in his ways, and to say he was frugal is an understatement.  He was a force to be reckoned with and his love for his family and friends was evident.
Lou is survived by his son Christopher R. Sibal and his wife Alison C. Sibal; his grandson Turner; and the rest of his family and friends.
Visitation and lite reception will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on December 19, 2018 at Stauffer Funeral Home located at 8 East Ridgeville Boulevard, Mount Airy, Maryland.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you listen to some Tchaikovsky and raise a toast to Lou, who leaves us rich in memories.
