Dr. John William Spranklin, Jr., 93, of the Boonsboro area died Saturday, May 24, 2008 at Reeders Memorial Home in Boonsboro.
Born February 7, 1915 in Baltimore, Md., he was the son of the late Marie Louise Luken and John W. Spranklin, Sr.
He was a veteran of WWII serving with the United States Army.
John graduated with a doctorate degree in Veterinary Science from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He owned and operated a private veterinarian practice in Baltimore.
He was an avid sailor.
John is survived by his wife of 22 years, Helene F. Spranklin; sons, John Spranklin, III of New Jersey and Peter Spranklin of Florida; seven step children; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; numerous step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
There will be no viewing.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
