Dr. Jasti Choudary

November 5, 1936 — January 10, 2018

Dr. Jasti Bhaskararao Choudary, 81 of Gaithersburg, MD passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 surrounded by his loved ones.

Dr. Choudary was born in the village of Nandivada in the Krishna District in Andhra Pradesh, India.  His father, Venkata Ratnam, passed away before his birth, and he was raised by his mother, Venkata Seshamma.  He was the husband of Rukmini (late) and Visalakshi Gana Choudary.  He was the devoted father of Leela Rani (late), Rukmini Devi, Radha Rani, and Sarada Devi.  Dr. Choudary was also the proud grandparent to Maya Devi, Thejas Kishore, Krishna Leela, and Deva Anand.

As an accomplished scientist, he was known by many for his dedication to public service.  He most recently served as the supervisory pharmacologist with 23 years of service at the Food and Drug Administration.   His family and friends fondly reminisce on his infectious smile, passion for integrity, loyalty, and love of a good game of cards.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opposumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702 on Sunday, January 14 from 11:30 am.  Services will begin at noon with a meal to follow.

Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the Care for Children fund through the Art of Living organization.
