Dr. Frank Guliuzza III

February 2, 1957 — February 26, 2019

Dr. Frank Guliuzza III slipped peacefully into the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ on February 26th, 2019.  Frank passionately served his Lord and others for over 40 years. Frank was born on February 2, 1957 to Frank Guliuzza, Jr. and Mary (Simpson) Guliuzza.  He was the oldest of three children, his brother, Randy Guliuzza, and sister, Robin Parkins who looked up to him for his entire life. They respected that Frank was always a sacrificial giver of his time and resources to his family and friends along with many people in need.

Frank was a life long learner and educator.  He earned a B.S. and M.A. from the University of Wyoming, a Masters of Divinity from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame.   Over the years he served in ministerial positions and as a pastor at numerous churches in Michigan, Utah, Virginia and Maryland.  Most recently he was an active member at Faith Baptist Church in Knoxville, MD.  Frank served as the Dean of Academic Affairs and Professor of Government at Patrick Henry College in Purcellville, Virginia until his death.  He loved to teach, advise, and coach future leaders - his students. He won many prestigious awards for excellence while in teaching at Weber State University, the University of Minnesota-Duluth, Vassar College, Wheaton College, and Notre Dame.

Frank is survived by his wife Ann Holcomb of Brunswick, MD, whom he married on May 28, 2015 in Ellicott City, MD; his beloved “son” Matthew Williamson of Ogden, UT; and Ann’s children: Calvin Dixon (Erica) of San Diego, CA - and Samuel, Laura and Christopher Dixon of Ellicott City, MD.  Frank is also survived by his father, Frank Guliuzza, Jr. of Sun Lakes, AZ; his brother Randy Guliuzza, M.D. (June) of Rapid City, SD; and his sister Robin (Guliuzza) Parkins of Watauga, TX.  Frank was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Guliuzza, in 2018, and his wife of 30 years, the former Kathy Spaulding, in 2012.  Frank and Kathy became “Dad” and “Mom” to Matthew and the late Timothy Stoddard.

Visitation and viewing will be held Wednesday, March 6, 2019 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 N. Maple Ave, Brunswick, MD 21716.
