Dr. Ching-Tai Byron Kao, 96, of Brunswick, MD passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Dr. Kung-Ying Kay Tang Kao.
Born July 19, 1916 in Wuxi, China he was the son of the late Su-Fong Kao and Zeng-Ming Chen.
Dr. Kao came to the US in 1948 to continue his medical training and was a Physician in Brunswick for the majority of his career.
He is survived by his daughter Chien-Song Kao Shan and husband Tai-Chi Shan and their children Timothy and Darren Shan of North Potomac, MD; his sons Daniel Kao and wife Margie and their children Melissa and Justin Kao of NYC, Donald Kao and partner Nicholas Chesla of NYC and Donald's daughter Amber Whyte and husband Rob and their son Hamish Whyte and David Kao and wife Tamara Thiel and their children Emily and Zoe Kao of Hood River, OR;sisters Madeline Leonida and husband Domingo of San Diego and Jing-Ying Kao and husband Yun Jia of Nanging, China and niece Zi Zhen Driver. He will also be remembered by his special friend and caregiver Delores Taulton.
He was preceded in death by 5 siblings.
The family will receive friends at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 N. Maple Ave., Brunswick on Sunday, August 19, 2012 from 6-8 PM. A funeral Service will be held at the Mt. Olivet Chapel, 515 South Market Street Frederick, MD on Monday, August 20 at 11 AM, the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. He will be laid to rest next to his wife following the service.
