Mr. Douglas B. Leatherman , 44, of Walkersville, died on Thursday, March 26th, 2009 .

He was the husband of Lori L. ( Vance ) Leatherman.

Born on January 23, 1965 in Frederick, the son of R. Dwight Leatherman and Marlene ( Stottlemyer ) Megee.

Mr. Leatherman was a member of the Fredericktowne Baptist Church. He enjoyed coaching baseball for Walkersville High School and the Frederick American Legion.

He was devoted to his family and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, son, grandfather and friend .

Surviving beside his wife and parents are; two sons, Daniel C. Leatherman and his wife Brianna, Kyle N. Leatherman, two grandchildren; Braedon and Lorelai Leatherman, a brother Robert Leatherman and wife Leslie, step-father Gary Megee, Father and mother-in law, Charles and Virginia Vance, two half brothers; Michael S. Leatherman, Jason Megee, half sister, Tanya A. Leatherman, special friends; Tommy Long, Dan Herche, Dave Fogle and Victoria Tipton. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and other relatives.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, on Thursday, April 2nd, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Services: Services on Friday at 11:00 a.m. At the Fredericktowne Baptist Church, 8645 Biggs Ford Rd., Walkersville with Rev. Gary Byers officiating. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to services. Serving as pallbearers will be Denny Long, Lance Young, Chris Best, Billy Winningham, Rick Stottlemyer and Rodney Young. Interment in Utica Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 S. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
