Douglas Wayne Flaugher, 66, of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed from this life on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born on January 29, 1947, in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Martin W. and Beulah M. (Willard) Flaugher.
Doug was a veteran of the United States Navy having service in the Vietnam War.
He worked in construction for most of his life in the Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland areas. His last job was Assistant Site Superintendent for Quinn Building in Timonium, Maryland.
Doug was a member of the American Legion Post 239 in Cascade, Maryland, and the Clopper-Michael American Legion Post 10 in Boonsboro.
He is survived by his wife, Jill L. (Griffith) Flaugher; one son, John D. Fauble of Boonsboro; two sisters, Carolyn Lynch of New Jersey, and Janet Thompson of Alabama, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death be one sister and several brothers.
A memorial gathering will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2013, at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro.
Memorial donations are requested to benefit the Boonsboro High School Future Farmers of America. Donations can be made payable to Mr. John Fauble and forwarded to the funeral home address. Also, donations to assist the family in defraying the cost of services may be mailed directly to the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home.
