Douglas Beavers

October 17, 1962 — June 11, 2017

Douglas W. Beavers, 54, of Monrovia Maryland passed suddenly on June 11, 2017 at his home.  He was born October 17, 1962 in Prince Georges County and was formerly of St. Mary’s County, Maryland.
He was the loving companion of Sherri L. Purkable and her daughter Emily Sexton.  He was “dad” to his beloved Beagle, Shyla.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Lee (Norris) Beavers and his father, William Buttersworth Beavers. He leaves behind siblings Debbie Tiburzi (Tony) of Troy, WVA, Raymond Beavers of Hollywood, MD, Vickie Spaulding of St. Petersburg, FL, formerly of Hollywood, MD, his loving Aunt, Saundra Nielsen (Jim) of Silver Spring, MD, a niece, 5 nephews and extended family.
Douglas loved life and lived it on his terms. He was “old school”. He was very talented and highly skilled in many trades. He loved music, woodworking, fishing, animals, riding motorcycles, sports, cooking, spending time with family and friends, and growing his garden. He looked forward to moving to the mountains one day and he will rest high on that mountain.
He lived simply but touched so many lives and helped anyone in need. While he will be missed here, God truly called his Angel home.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd., Mt. Airy, MD 21771 on Saturday, June 24, 2017 from 2:00pm to 3:00 p.m. Services will follow at 3:00 p.m. Rev. Tim May will officiate.
Expressions of sympathy can be made to Frederick County Humane Society, PO Box 3185, Frederick, MD 21705 or a charity of your choice.
A celebration of his life will take place at a later date.
